    Narendra B. Verma, during his college tenure was conferred with the Best Social Worker award in the year 1982-83 for his contribution toward the Saurashtra and Konkan Relief Fund Drive, by Shri I.H. Latif, the then Governor of Maharashtra, at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.

    In the mid-eighties when Punjab was burning due to terrorist activities, Shri Sunil Dutt the former M.P. accompanied by Narendra B. Verma held a peace march “Maha Shanti Padyatra” to restore peace in Punjab. They began their journey on 26th January, 1987 from Mumbai, Gandhi Bhavan (Gowalia Tank) and concluded at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on 13th April, which was the Baisakhi Day. The march was flagged off by the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri S. B. Chavan.

    In the late eighties, the campuses of Mumbai colleges were under the clutches of drug peddlers. Narendra B. Verma took the onus of organizing an Anti-Drug Addiction Drive with the help of the former Honorable M.P. Shri Sunil Dutt and Dr. Yusuf Merchant, who runs a Drug Rehabilitation Centre; for which Narendra B. Verma was fiercely assaulted. For this awful assault all the colleges of Mumbai under the Mumbai University were shut down for one day as a mark of protest.

    To reduce the voting age from 21 to 18 years, Narendra B. Verma undertook a signature campaign. Nearly 1,00,000 signatures were collected and submitted to the then P.M. Rajiv Gandhi, when he had visited Mumbai.

    On 19th September, 1989 around 8000 students participated in the students meet under the slogan of ‘Education and Employment for all’ where all prominent state and central leaders of congress party were in attendance.

    Terrorists were killed in an encounter at Lokhandwala Complex, Versova-Mumbai by brave Police officers. Narendra B. Verma felicitated them for their outstanding acts of bravery.

    After the demolition of the Babri masjid, communal riots flared in Mumbai from December 1992-January 1993. In order to maintain law, order and peace Narendra B. Verma constructed a full-fledged Police Chowki in his constituency at 7 Bungalows, Versova, Andheri West.

    8. During Ganesh Utsav Narendra B. Verma made arrangements at the Ganesh immersion point at Seven Bungalows, Versova in his constituency, to welcome Ganesh devotees with Pushpavrushti and also arranged a team of life guards at the immersion point to prevent cases of drowning.

    As a Youth President of Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC), he along with the then Excise Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Anil Deshmukh, raided many illegal Paan and Gutka shops and banned Paan Masala near schools and colleges.

    A cheque of Rs. 5,00,001/- was handed over to Shri Sharad Pawar the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra towards the Odisha Relief Fund by Narendra B. Verma.

    For employment of the youth, Narendra B. Verma took a strong stand against the decision of the Government of Maharashtra and vehemently demanded that vacancies in government jobs should be filled.

    Narendra B. Verma insisted on employment for the local unemployed youth in new commercial establishments like 5-star hotels and corporate offices to ensure that they are engaged in securing an income for their families.

    Shri Narendra B. Verma donated wheelchairs for the physically challenged youths on 30th January, 2010, on the occasion of the Death Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
